Tag Sale Season Begins Near Norwalk Apartments

Norwalk apartment rentals at Morningside Gardens

Norwalk is the Perfect Place for Tag Sales

It’s almost September and the residents of our Morningside Gardens Norwalk apartments know what that means…it’s tag sale season! Norwalk hosts more tag sales in September than any other month and this year there’s even more to get excited about as this Saturday August 28 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. the park surrounding the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum at 295 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT will be overflowing with a wide variety of new and used merchandise during the museum’s fourth annual Old-fashioned Flea Market.

Vendors will be there offering everything from vintage to contemporary fashion, rare and one-of-a-kind objects and everyday household items. Among the vendors this year, Phyllis Rose of the Maury Rose Group of Greenwich will display antiques and collectible items including a rare pair of solid brass Gucci insignia plaques that were originally from the fashion company’s headquarters in Milan, Italy. Furniture on sale will include a set of wine tasting chairs from the cellar of a renowned Hollywood star who recently sold his mansion in Greenwich.

The Old-fashioned Flea Market will feature an outdoor exhibit of classic and antique cars from 1911 through the 70s, including a 1911 Cadillac, a 1927 Model T Ford, a 1912 Packard Touring and a 1956 Chevrolet, among others.

An all-American barbecue offering hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, and other summer favorites, will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m and a concert will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the South Lawn featuring a Dixieland Band.

Admission to the Flea Market is free and it’s just a short stroll – about .5 miles south from our Morningside Gardens Apartments on Prospect Street.
