Support Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade with a Game of Corn Hole

With this year’s festivities just around the corner, you can make this year the best yet by supporting the Parade’s fundraising efforts during its Corn Hole Tournament at Madden’s Gastropub on Feb. 28. Beginning at 7 p.m. the Corn Hole Tournament is the perfect opportunity for residents of nearby Branford apartments to support the Parade while enjoying a night out with friends.

Corn Hole Tournament attendees will have the opportunity to enter a cash prize raffle drawing and will receive food and drink specials. A blind draw is done for the two person teams. Tickets are $10 per person, and the ticket sales will benefit the Parade. This event is perfect for beginners looking to have fun and for people who have been playing for years. What better way to bring in March?

The Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade tradition began on March 17, 1842 and has been held ever since. This Connecticut tradition became a premiere Irish event during the mid-1950’s and is Connecticut’s largest, single-day spectator event. The Parade had an estimated 325,000 spectators in 2012 and continues to intrigue viewers from across the state.

This year’s Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday, March 16. Grand Marshal Kelly Canning Ruickholt will lead over 3,000 marchers, fife and drum bands, bagpipers, clowns, special guests and more! The parade will begin at 10 a.m.
