Nature Hike near Hamden ApartmentsDo you make New Year’s resolutions? If you are like the majority of Americans, then your resolution likely pertains to health and fitness. For residents of Hamden apartments at Seramonte, you can get a jump start on your New Year’s resolution with a New Year’s Day Hike at nearby Sleeping Giant Park.

Interest hikers are invited to meet at the bulletin board by the kiosk near the park entrance at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1. From there the group will take off on a hike that includes traveling over uneven, rocky terrain, possibly with a degree of rock scrambling. Participating hikers should be in good physical condition and are encouraged to dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes with good traction.

This New Year’s Day hike is free to the public and children are welcome to participate, but they must be accompanied by an adult. Throughout the hike, the group may split into two groups with one returning to the starting point after an hour-and-a-half and the other traveling on for another hour.

Out of respect to other hikers, dogs are not permitted on the hike. For more information on the New Year’s Day Hike at Sleeping Giant Park, visit www.sgpa.org.

The entrance to Sleeping Giant Park is located on Mt. Carmel Avenue with the park entrance across the street from Quinnipac University and just minutes from Hamden apartments at Seramonte.
