Stamford Public SchoolsSchool may be out for summer, but Stamford Public schools recently received the equivalent of all As on its report card! The GE Foundation has announced that it will give Stamford Public Schools a $15.3 million dollar grant over the next five years. The GE Foundation Developing Futures in Education program will focus on improving students scores in science and math. The extension brings the total GE Foundation contribution to Stanford Public Schools to $25.8 million over seven years.

The comprehensive program will be a collaboration between school, business and community. It will be supported by GE senior executives and GE Volunteers, who are contributing their time to support district improvement and student success.

The fifth largest school district in Connecticut, the Stamford Public School district is comprised of more than 15,000 students, 1,000 teachers and 20 schools. The GE grant represents the largest non-government grant in the districts history.
