Connecticut St. Patrick’s Day Parades

By

Whether you reside in one of the downtown Stamford apartments at The Townhouse, Hoyt Bedford or Morgan Manor or have chosen one of the New Haven apartment communities Montoya or Seramonte, you have a fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day Parade at your fingertips.

Let’s start with Stamford:

The annual Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins on Saturday, March 13th at noon. The parade route starts at Franklin Street and North Street and runs down Summer Street, making its way through Stamford Downtown, turns at Broad Street and up Bedford Street and to end at North St/Franklin. Over 80 different marching units are scheduled to participate, and Tigin’s Irish Pub and Tiernans will help sponsor the event by providing live entertainment throughout the day.

The St. Patrick’s Day festivities continue past the conclusion of the parade. Hang out outside the Tigin’s tent to hear bag pipers and see Irish Dancers. Plus, they will have The Irish Band performing at 2:00 p.m. and Rattlin Hum performing at 9:00 p.m. Tiernans will have corned beef and cabbage as well as Guinness on hand. They will also have Irish dancer, bag pipers and live entertainment plus different drink specials and other giveaways. It seems there is hardly a better way to get yourself in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit than by spending Saturday in Downtown Stamford.

New Haven’s parade is the 6th oldest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the nation:

New Haven is home to one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the nation. In fact, the New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Connecticut’s largest single-day spectator event. The 2010 parade is this Sunday, March 14th and begins at 1:00 p.m. With over 175,000 spectators expected, you will definitely want to get to the parade route early to claim your seat. The parade starts at Chapel Street and Sherman Avenue in downtown New Haven, and it concludes at Grove and Orange Streets.

Whatever your plans may be for this weekend, we hope you have a great weekend and a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
