Sand, Sun and Summer Fun on the Beaches of Connecticut

By

Sunrise over beach near downtown Stamford apartmentsIf you’re looking for some fun in the sun this summer, look no further than the array of beautiful beaches that line the Connecticut coast. Whether you want to spend your summer days getting active on the sands or sitting back and watching the waves roll by, an apartment from Connecticut’s Best is always close by for you to come home to after a day at the beach.

Conveniently located near our Morningside Gardens Apartments in Norwalk and our Stamford area apartments, Calf Pasture Beach is the largest in the area and is known for activities like bird watching, shelling, fishing and mini-golf. Residents of Norwalk enjoy free parking, so there’s no reason not to take a mini-vacation to this beach.  Also in the area is Sherwood Island State Park. As Connecticut’s oldest park (unofficially), this popular beach in Long Island Sound is perfect for swimming, fishing or just lounging around; just don’t forget to bring your water shoes to navigate its rocky terrain and be sure to check out the Nature Center while you’re there. Learn how you can enjoy the best of both comfort and convenience at our Norwalk apartments by visiting the leasing center at 112 Hoyt Street or calling 203-325-3848; interested renters can also call or text Nicole at 203-273-7529. The seaside town of Branford is home to some of the best beaches and activities that will keep you entertained all summer long. In 2007, Silver Sands State Park was named one of the Top 10 Beaches in New England by Yankee Magazine, and for good reason. This remote beach on the southern edge of Milford features a beach area with a boardwalk and clean restrooms nearby. Local legend says there’s actually buried treasure, too! Boasting the largest shoreline in the state, Hammonasset Beach offers plenty of room for beachgoers to enjoy bicycling, camping, fishing, picnicking and walking trails. For more fun in Branford, check out our earlier blog post about what’s going on this summer near our Montoya Apartments. To learn more about our rentals in Branford, stop by the leasing center at 57 Montoya Circle or call 203-208-0174; interested renters can also call or text Jennifer at 203-537-3172.

The largest of Fairfield’s six beaches, Jennings Beach is home to the “Sand Castle Playground” and a nearby marina that provides a peaceful view of passing sailboats. The whole family can enjoy a range of activities here, including a dance followed by a star-lit movie night on the beach.  For even more family fun, the best value in town is Short Beach Park: a fenced-in playground right on the sand with a free skate park, food concession, basketball, mini-golf and so much more. Both beaches are easily accessible from our Seramonte Apartments in Hamden/New Haven. To learn more about our conveniently located Hamden apartments, stop by the leasing center at 1 Kaye Plaza or call 203-281-0001; renters can also call or text Jessica at 203-448-9650 or Sam at 203-619-4576.

Of course, these aren’t the only beaches in Connecticut that are worth going to; discover more sandy spots in this USA Today article and this blog on affordable beaches by Connecticut’s Mommy Poppins.
