Residents of our Luxury Stamford Apartments all set to enjoy Cherry Blossom Festival

Gorgeous Cherry Blossoms

The Cherry Blossom Festival promises to be a gorgeous event for residents of our Stamford luxury apartments to enjoy

As all of our Stamford luxury apartments are set perfectly in the downtown Stamford area within walking distance of all the great events going on there, it’s no surprise that there’s another fun one this weekend! On this Saturday, May 5 there will be an extravaganza at the new Mill River Park. This park is just a short walk away from our apartment communities of Morgan Manor, Hoyt-Bedford and The Townhouse, so you won’t have to worry about where to park.

The Cherry Blossom Festival will be both a celebration of spring and of the gift of a series of cherry trees from former Stamford resident Junzo Nojima. Nojima gave the city 120 Japanese cherry trees to as a thank you gift for accepting him into the community in 1957. The festival will have a huge number of events, including Karate & Taiko Masala (bamboo swords) performances, traditional tea ceremonies and even take part in kimono dressing with a photo booth to capture the moment. Young & old alike can try their hand at origami (Japanese paper folding), kirigami (Japanese paper cutting) or sumie (black ink painting).  Stamford’s Japanese-owned restaurant Kujaku will be offering samples of their delicious food.

This will also be a great chance to see how the new park is coming along, where construction is moving along swiftly. The gardens are also being developed quickly, with nearly 20,000 bulbs already plated. We can’t wait to see how it shapes up as an oasis of fun in the center of Stamford.
