Quick and Easy Decorating Hacks for Your Apartment

map wall artWhen you move into a new place, it sometimes takes a while before it truly starts to feel like home. Your new apartment won’t have any of your personal touches that spark that warmth of home when you first arrive. Or, if you’ve lived in your apartment, it may begin to feel stale. Don’t worry though! Whether you need to add a little personality or are just looking for a change, we have a few quick and easy decorating hacks to make your apartment more inviting.

Map art is a fun and inspiring way to decorate your living space, especially if you love to travel! All you need is a large map of the United States. Then, hang it up on a large wall that needs decoration. The map is already a cool way to add some life to a boring room, but it gets better! Whenever you travel to different states, be sure to get a picture. When you come home, print it out, cut it out as the shape of the state and attach it to the same state on your map! This adds color, preserves memories and can even lead to great conversations.

Hopefully you’ll be inviting over lots of friends to check out your latest decorations. This can be a lot of fun, but things can get inconvenient when all your guests need to charge their phones at the same time and there aren’t enough outlets to go around. Don’t get discouraged! Simply turn this problem into a new project. Create a charging station for your apartment that’s both efficient and attractive. Find a box or other container that’s large enough to hold a power strip. Make holes for the power strip’s cord and the charging wires. Now it’s up to you! Decorate the container however you want, and you’ll have an awesome new charging station that hides unsightly wires and gets the job done.

Filling your walls with pictures is always a great and easy decorating idea. However, think about taking this concept a step farther. Instead of just using normal picture frames for your photos, try using a floral hanging frame to add more color and a new look to your room. You’ll need two things: a wire frame with hangers and flowers of your choice. Print off the pictures you want and hang them on the frame using tape or wire. Next, weave in some of the pretty flowers you’ve chosen in between the pictures. Hang the final product on the wall and enjoy the fresh look it brings to your apartment!

These are just a few ideas you can try out this weekend to bring new life into your apartment. Remember to be creative and have fun when decorating your home! For more ideas on style and decorating tips for you apartment, be sure to check out our blog, Facebook and Pinterest page.
