PEZ Candy Land Offers Fun for Residents of Connecticut Apartments

apartments in ConnecticutIf you’re looking for something fun to do outside your apartments in Connecticut now that the weather has warmed up, explore the history of one of America’s most unique candies, PEZ, at their visitor’s center in Orange, Ct.

Since it was first manufactured in 1927 in Vienna, Austria, PEZ has become a popular candy due in large part to the unique dispensers available. Learn about everything PEZ as your peruse more than 5,000 displays in the 6,000 square foot visitors facility. Upon entering the facility, visitors are greeted by a life-size motorcycle from Orange County Choppers completely made up of PEZ, including non-reflective mirrors built with candies and spokes made up of dispensers. Other cool features include a 14-foot tall PEZ boy, an interactive timeline showing the development of the candy, a PEZ trivia game and a glass wall overlooking the factory. After your tour, be sure to stop by the cafe for refreshments and visit the gift shop to pick up your favorite dispenser.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children ages three to 12 and FREE for children under the age of three. Operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. The visitor’s center is located at 35 Prindle Hill Road in Orange.
