New Farmers Market near our Stamford Connecticut Apartments

Delicious fresh produce and music for residents of our Connecticut Apartments

Come for the fresh produce, stay for the fun concerts near our Stamford Connecticut Apartments

Conveniently located close to the center of downtown Stamford, our Connecticut apartments of Hoyt-Bedford, Morgan Manor and The Townhouse are close to everything you could want. Our residents are often able to leave their cars at home while they walk over to the dry-cleaners, pharmacy or movie theatres. There’s a local farmers market that pops up every Saturday a few blocks away on Bedford Street. Now there’s another one even closer!

The Fish Church Farmer’s Market is open on Tuesdays from July through October from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It’s located on Morgan Street just a half block from our Morgan Manor and Hoyt-Bedford apartments and about two-and-a-half blocks from The Townhouse apartments on prospect Street. Each week you’ll be treated to the sights and scents of local Connecticut produce. Farmers from all over CT come with their fresh produce to tempt you but you’ll also find artisan breads, muffins and rolls, honey collected from local hives and even fresh flowers for the dinner table. They have fresh pressed organic juices and freshly made cheese from goat’s milk. Come taste some of the freshest, sweetest sugar-snap peas you’ll ever eat.

While you’re there you may want to take a stroll through the church’s lovely grounds and pick out a nice shady spot. On Thursday evenings they offer Concerts on the Green, a wonderful, family-friendly outing.    There are seven free concerts on Thursday evenings in June, July, and August centered on professional blues-rock bands based in Fairfield County. Before a band performs, guest artists from the North America and Europe play popular tunes on the Carillon.

The Maguire Memorial Carillon of First Presbyterian Church is a world-class, 56-bell instrument. The 20 largest bells are playable electrically from the organ, and it is on these that the music of the concert is played – truly a memorable experience.  The beauty and clarity of the tone of this instrument make it a true gem of Stamford.

You are encouraged to bring picnic suppers in the bowl of the Green before the concert begins. Some attendees set elaborate tables complete with candelabra, but most just lounge on the lawn with their picnic basket. Don’t forget to save room though because did I mention the FREE ice-cream that’s served?  See you there!
