Reading at Hamden Library near Connecticut ApartmentsIn an effort to get children reading this summer, the Hamden Public Library has created a “Dig into Reading” program that awards prizes to children who read for a certain number of hours. This a great opportunity for parents of Hamden, Ct. apartments at Seramonte to encourage their little ones to read a good book this summer.

Rewards for participating in this summer reading program include:

  • Complete four hours of reading a put a marker on the Hamden Public Library board and receive a small prize.
  • Complete 12 hours of reading and receive a free paperback book, enter the raffle to win one of the larger prizes in the display case and receive a certificate.

Participants of the “Dig into Reading” game are encouraged to keep track of their time by registering at www.hamdenlibrary.org/children. The best part about the program is that children can read whatever book they want. Young children can also get involved, even if they cannot read yet. Time for books read to non-reading children is allowed to be tracked as well.
