Go On an Animal Adventure at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

By

The Maritime Aquarium near Norwalk ApartmentsCan you image what it would be like to watch a sting ray swim across a movie screen that is as tall as a six-story building? A place where you can see up close all of the many creatures of Long Island Sound—from tiny crawling critters to colorful jellyfish and  sea turtles—and even have a chance to touch a live shark. When you live in the Morningside Gardens apartment community in Norwalk, you can experience Connecticut’s beautiful beaches and enjoy taking trips to the The Maritime Aquarium for an up-close peak at life below the blue water.

The Maritime Aquarium is a Norwalk jewel and is unique from so many other aquariums in that it focuses on only one body of water—the one outside your door! The marine population of the Long Island Sound fills the 100,000 square foot aquarium, bringing in thousands of visitors from the surrounding areas every year.

During July and August, children will love taking turns gently touching moon jellyfish at the “Jiggle a Jelly” exhibit, taking in a show at the IMAX theater, watching a seal feeding and exploring the awesome wonders of nature! Aside from cool animal adventures, families and visitors can also take a stroll through the children’s art exhibit that features pieces from 120 young artists (ages 8 to18) representing 22 different countries.

After spending the day exploring the aquarium, families from Morningside Gardens can grab a bite to eat at one of Norwalk’s fantastic restaurants or have a picnic on the community’s beautifully landscaped grounds.
