Tax Counseling near Stamford ApartmentsTuesday, April 15, 2014 may seem like a long way off, but the dreaded deadline for taxes is coming quicker than you think. For many, doing your taxes on your own can seem like a daunting task, but as with anything, it is easier if you seek guidance. This Monday, Feb. 3, 2013, residents of Stamford apartments can get a jump start on their taxes when they attend a free tax counseling session at the Harry Bennett Branch of The Ferguson Library.

The tax counseling session, sponsored by AARP Tax Aide, will begin at 11 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m. During this five hour time period, trained tax counselors will be available for counseling and to answer general questions. Jupiter Astronomy Night near Stamford ApartmentsLooking for fun that is out of this world? The Stamford Museum & Nature Center offers astronomy programs that are perfect for kicking off the weekend. On select Friday nights, guests of the museum are invited to explore the night sky, planets, stars and more.

Yo Yo Show near Hamden ApartmentsAs a kid, were you a yo-yo whiz that could Rock the Baby, Walk the Dog and more? This Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m., see world champion yo-yo artist, John Higby, showcase these classic yo-yo tricks and more at Thornton Wilder Hall near Hamden apartments.

As a part of Hamden Arts, Recreation and Culture Department’s Saturday afternoon family entertainment series, John Higby will light up the stage as he showcases his deft skill, high energy and great humor.
