Safety tips for Branford Residents

With frost like this coming, there are important winter safety tips to remember.

As December rolls around, it’s time to start bundling up, enjoying time by the fire and breaking out the hot cider. There are always a few important winter safety concerns we would like to remind Branford apartment rentals residents  as cold weather and frost begin to affect our lives.

Remember when you are out enjoying shopping or spending time with friends and family, make sure that cars can see you. For those that prefer to do their shopping at super early door busters that pop up around the holidays or busy workers who can’t hit the shops until after dark, this is especially true. An investment in reflective gear, or reflective tape to apply to your current repertoire of winter clothing is a great idea for increasing visibility. Be sure to use crosswalks and follow traffic rules no matter what time of day you’re trying to bag that great deal. Read More→

Ghost Parking Lot Near Hamden Rental Apartments

The Hamden rental apartments at Seramonte are located in an area that has a lot of history. At the time the horseshoe shaped, strip shopping mall was erected in 1978, there was a notable roadside public art installation in front of it featuring more than 100 art books and 15 car hulks specially treated and buried in asphalt at various depths in the Plaza parking lot. The cars included a Beetle, a couple of station wagons and an open convertible.

Although the attraction was torn down in 2003 due to excessive cost of restoration and repair and the cul-de-sac is now known as the Ghost Parking Lot, the Plaza still remains a vital source of activity. It offers stores ranging from Marshalls to Subway, Wells Fargo Bank and ShopRite where one can buy just about anything one needs.

Along the sidewalks in front of the stores, there are still a few sculpted works enclosed in large glass structures. Read More→
