As you know, Mother’s Day is a special day for honoring mothers around the world. Since it holds great significance for all, it is no wonder it is considered one of the top most celebrated holidays across the globe. There are many ways to honor your mother, but the best way is to simply stop and say “thank you.” After all, it is through her love, devotion and dedication that you grew up to be the fine person you are today!

Of course you will want to send flowers and treat mom to brunch or dinner. Simply visit http://www.proflowers.com/mothers-day-flowers-mdf but it might also be fun to turn to your creative instincts and add something unique. A great idea is to sort through old photos and put together a collage representing some of the significant events in mom’s life.  Another thought is to write a quiz and encourage the participation of everyone in the family. What is mom’s favorite dish, her favorite perfume, color, actor, author, song, flower or hobby? What is her favorite way of spending leisure time? A Good Walk Spoiled

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Motorcycles are emerging from their garages for their first outing of the season. Landscapers, at least in the New Haven area, are doing spring clean ups of the grounds of Branford apartments. Barbecue grills are appearing on decks and patios. Windows are being opened for the first time since last fall. Outside pools and tennis courts are getting prepared for summer.

But now that you can finally see the grass, for many it is time to head to the greens. Mark Twain once described golf as “a good walk spoiled,” but for many the serenity and beauty of golf is the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of I-95 commutes and New Haven careers. The Branford area for example has a surprising number of public courses, not to mention many private courses and clubs.

Here are but some of the public and municipal courses in the Branford area, all of which are less than 20 minutes from Branford. Read More→

Happy Birthday, Justin

Posted by: | Comments (0)

On Saturday, March 5, the Leasing Office at Montoya Apartments played host to a belated birthday party for Justin Bieber, who had turned 17 on the first. Montoya is a beautifully landscaped community of Branford apartments, and just a few minutes from New Haven and Yale.

The Leasing Office, which is open every day, is a converted one bedroom one bath garden-style apartment, so there was plenty of room for the ten or so young girls and one boy who attended.

The Office furnished milk, juice and donuts for the fans that brought their own music as well as games and posters for the walls. As the kids ate, drank and listened to Justin’s music, they talked about which of them Justin was going to marry. Bieber has many fans of all ages, but for young girls between 8 and 14, he is nothing short of a benign epidemic.

Between games and art projects, the kids filled out guest cards and pretended to rent an apartment. One wanted a “gigantic” condo so she could use the seasonal pool. Another wanted a two bedroom apartment plus a garage for her Justin Bieber collection. Read More→

Stamford Apartments Moving Tips

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The weather is not the only thing that’s warming up as springtime settles in. This time of year, the housing market starts to get busier each month as folks try to time their moves with spring break and the end of the school year. Here at Stamford Apartments, we often get calls asking about availability for anywhere from immediate occupancy to those who don’t plan to move for several months, as well as the annual influx of corporate summer interns looking for short-term leases. The rule of thumb for rentals is to start looking online approximately three months before you need to move. Narrow down the neighborhoods of interest to you as well as the available amenities each apartment community offers and start making a short list of your must-haves. These might include being within walking distance to the train station or having a washer and dryer in the apartment or finding an apartment close to downtown Stamford. Read More→
