Archive for July, 2009

Saturday nights in Norwalk are perfect for family fun. This past Saturday, July 11, was the first of four outdoor movies playing on the white sand of Shady Beach. Don’t stress if you missed it, as there are more movies to come. And, the evening’s festivities do not only include a family favorite movie on the big screen, but other activities for children to enjoy as well. There is only a $5 parking fee for cars without a Norwalk beach sticker, and that’s it! Now for the list of featured movies (last week’s movie was Kung Fu Panda in case you were interested):

  • The Goonies on July 25
  • Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa on August 8
  • Bolt on August 22

Be sure to pack a jacket as the beach can get pretty breezy a night, but is there a better way to enjoy a movie than with your toes in the sand and a blanket of stars in the sky? So, mark these Saturdays for the “It’s 2 Cool Outdoor Movies.” Read More→

Buying your produce at the farmer’s market is one of the best ways to show your support for the local economy and local farmers. At the market,  you can purchase a wide-array of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, cut flowers and plenty more from a variety of vendors. The market is open to all and, not only is a great opportunity for purchasing your groceries, but is also a prime time to interact with other Hamden residents. It’s a social outlet for the community as well as a great event for the economy.

In season right now, you’ll find things like cucumbers, pears, tomatoes, lobster, maple candy and so much more. See you Friday morning!
