Cruise into Fall Fun at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk

The Maritime Aquarium near Norwalk ApartmentsPrepare to set sail on a new adventure in the Long Island harbor this fall as the Maritime Aquarium launches its newest vessel, the R/V Spirit of Sound. If you have visited the unique aquarium but have never been aboard one of its study cruises, now is a great time to start preparing for your visit!

Expected to launch in early October, the new Spirit of Sound ship will offer double the capacity for passengers inside and out, replacing the current 34-year old diesel powered trawler. Aside from being roomier, the new catamaran is receiving a lot of buzz for being the only research vessel in the United States to run using hybrid-electric propulsion, operating entirely on electric power during the two-and-a-half hour study cruises.

  • Saturday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday and Monday, October 12-13 at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19 at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26 at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, November 1-2 at 1 p.m.

Advanced registration is strongly encouraged for interested passengers, as the cruises do sell out.  Be sure to bring your camera as well for great fall photos!
