Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Stamford

84 Park in StamfordEven though New York City is only a quick train or car ride away from Stamford, you do not need to leave our quaint city in order to have an amazing New Year’s Eve. To help convince you to stay within the city limits on December 31, 2009, here are a few suggestions for you to take part in. By the way, these events are all within walking distance of the downtown Stamford apartments The Townhouse, Hoyt Bedford and Morgan Manor.

84 Park is one of the new additions to downtown Stamford. And to help make a name for themselves as a great nightlife destination, they are hosing a Masquerade Ball to ring in 2010. Now, masks are not required for entry, but they are encouraged. Go ahead and start looking for your decorative, mysterious mask now. Two different DJs will be spinning your favorite dance hits all night long, and you can enjoy the benefits of a premium open bar. In case you get hungry, they will also have a buffet of hors d’oeuvres to keep you going past midnight. Tickets are $90, but if you buy them in advance you can save. Call 203-973-0300 for more information.

Offering something a little more traditional, Butterfield 8 is hosting a soiree for individuals 23 and over. Where they came up with 23, I have no idea, but they will be checking IDs at the door. It’ll be worth it though because attendees can enjoy a top shelf bar, gourmet passed hors d’oeuvres, full dinner buffet and a continental breakfast. Needless to say, you will be well taken care of all of hours of the night and into the morning. Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and the cost to attend is $100, but you can save $10 by purchasing your tickets in advance.

So don’t worry about trains and automobiles and horrendous crowds this New Year’s Eve. Instead, make plans to stay in Stamford and enjoy the signature events that the city has to offer. And, as an added convenience, you can just walk yourself home once the night comes to an end.
